San Jose State University professor and engaging Civil War expert, Dr. Laura Hilde, presents a five-part series on the American Civil War. The series began October 12, 2011 and continues until February 8, 2012. The fourth lecture in the series, "Emancipation and Soldiers' Experiences" took place on Wednesday, January 11 , 2012. This program series has been generously supported by the Friends of the Sunnyvale Public Library.
